Project Description

Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons Restaurants, Oxfordshire

Having worked extensively with Raymond Blanc OBE on lighting the buildings and grounds of Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons, Mike Shackleton and ogl were invited to re-design and install lighting for the Michelin-starred restaurants inside this famous hotel. Obviously known for it’s fine cuisine and dining, the brief was to design and install cost-effective lighting that would enhance the beautiful food, while creating an intimate ambience for the guests.

The brief also stipulated that the restaurants must remain open throughout the entire process, which meant that ogl electricians had to work every night (after the restaurants had closed and the guest had left), quietly (because there are guest suites above the restaurants), stripping out all the old halogen track lighting and installing the latest LED systems, linked to Lutron DALI controls.

After a complex but careful multiple-night installation, the prestigious restaurants were re-lit to the complete satisfaction of that most discerning of clients, Monsieur Blanc, and the obvious delight of his cherished guests.
